An otherwise excellent flash...

Marred by gaps in the audio.

I've never seen a submission do that before...it totally detracted from an otherwise spectacular flash. Did you use scenes? Cut up the audio into separate clips? Whatever it is you did, it hurts the flash, grievously. PLEASE. Take this flash, put it all in one scene with a continuous streaming audio track set behind it. Your artwork and amazing story line need to be shown without this minor technical error detracting from them.

neeko responds:

Thanks for the review NewEvolution. I am actually redoing the flash to fix up the trouble spots and music.

.....

That was beautiful as not much else is.

BlackmarketKraig responds:

Thank you, NewEvolution!

..!

NewEvolution?!

Coincidence?
Yes!

Scorsese would be proud.

I'm personally amazed you managed to capture the epic struggle in the manner thus portrayed in this masterful flash. The blood. The guts. The foaming Ewok spittle.

A treasure for the ages.

I don't want to be too forward, but your Oscar is already engraved.

Onic responds:

lol, thanks for the review NewEvolution. I'm glad that you found so much humor in this. The foaming ewok is by far the number one part like you said ;)
Thanks for the great review and have a great day.

HAH. Best loop ever.

Damn....I just gave away the whole plot!

I am glad that you liked it. thanks

Evangelion much?

I kid, I kid. ...though that Xmas tree looks a bit angel-ish, and the whole "OMG HALF THE MENORAH'S FACE GOT BLOWN OFF AS HE WAS BLASTED ACROSS THE CITY AND THEN HE FREAKED OUT" seems a bit familiar....

Meh. I've just got a photographic memory for kickass battle scenes.

Anyway, excellent style and execution. I love the transition from "crappy stick flash with MS Paint edited menorah" to "this kicks my ass sideways." Well played.

I look forward to future work...keep up the originality and singular style.

spacejelly responds:

Its total evangelion! lol i thought more people would notice! its more of an homage than a rip off, well thats what i tell myself at night.

Nice.................BUT WRONG!

While GuitarBrdArounO was correct about Pink Floyd (whose rendition is far better) the one you used isn't by Manson. Last I checked, that was the Korn version....which was horrifically over-played on K-Rock while I was up north for Xmas break.

I digress.

Nice flash. I like random, and you did it well. Next time I'd look into some sound effects for the whole flash. While the music you used is better than nothing, often some well placed sound effects are better than just background music.

Killjoy-6969 responds:

actually its not the korn version
i have both the original, korn and this 1.
again im sorry about the sounds. i couldnt add them in neer the end, as my computer would error every tyme.

I'd think it good were it not a blatant copy.

That exact same dance is done by that exact same bear on a Flash on the infamous Dickcream site. You just rotoscoped it.

I wish I'd seen this while it was under judgment, as then I could have flagged it.

Halfway decent concept....but do your own art.

Sabu responds:

Thanks for the consideration; yes, it is a trace put into a different context. Everyone should be well aware of this, I even posted the original for reference. I'm going to take the suggestions from below and split it up and make it interactive, etc, but I do not claim ownership over the shape of movement of the character.

Dickcream.. no, I've never been there. I'll check it out.

Singular style. Very well done music video.

Nice work. I always like to see good animation synched well with good audio, and you don't dissapoint. Keep up the good animation and fresh ideas.

By the way...is that a picture of the guy from Turbonegro on the brother's wall?

Professor-Dull responds:

Haha! Actually I got the inspiration from the guy from the Village People.

...

You're actively trying to make my head explode.

Aren't you?

Kyora-Mishiso responds:

Maybe.

Not bad...

You successfully managed to make a sprite movie watchable. Good cuts, good animation, good use of zoom and pan to make it interesting rather than your average spite crap.

My suggestion would be to work on the audio. Check out www.sounddogs.com for some more varied sound effects, and definitely tune down the gunshots and sword "shwings" a bit.
They need to be louder than the music, but not that loud. I had to turn down the sound really low to tolerate it, and it kind of killed the smooth feel and mood of the rest of the movie.

Moogleslayer responds:

thx for the site, ill work on my sound.
