I <3 Mac.
You get mad points for the liberal use of the Mac voices. That and some truly creative use of very limited video. Amazing and creative on all fronts....that "a pongo is just a pongo" is destined to become a NG catchphrase.
Well done.
You win.
Best.
Stick movie.
Ever.
Not bad...
You successfully managed to make a sprite movie watchable. Good cuts, good animation, good use of zoom and pan to make it interesting rather than your average spite crap.
My suggestion would be to work on the audio. Check out www.sounddogs.com for some more varied sound effects, and definitely tune down the gunshots and sword "shwings" a bit.
They need to be louder than the music, but not that loud. I had to turn down the sound really low to tolerate it, and it kind of killed the smooth feel and mood of the rest of the movie.
thx for the site, ill work on my sound.
I've always liked this series.
I'm glad it's finally made its way to Newgrounds. My only issue with this one is the aspect ratio. It's left a bit too large, and you can see where the characters are cut off at the bottom where the edge of the flash should end. I'd either throw in some black letterbox bars and upload the fixed version, or re-upload this one, and change the size settings to the correct size when you submit.
A Flash Classic.
Finally, it's made its way to Newgrounds!
I've enjoyed this flash for years, it's been one of my favorites from the first time I saw it back in college. A humorous and eccentric piece that me and my college buds still quote lines from. Glad to see it here on NG, and getting such good ratings.
"Just as I suspected... They're evaporating."
right click, choose play.
Crank the volume and listen to the mayhem.
Just the fact you can do this saved this from defeat.
Fantastic. Into my favorites.
Your timing was impeccable, and your animation was both kitschy and super smooth. My only critique would be to include some stuff flying by when he's going at super high speed. I realized that the background was completely blurred from the immense speed he was traveling at, but it didn't come across very well since the background was so static. On second thought, a bit of vibration of the background like his shell did while transforming would work wonders.
Nice work. It's funny, and very very well executed.
Thanks!
I was going to add some little globs of goo trailing behind him as he was flying, but I realized that I'm not going to have much time over the next few days to work on it what with midterms and all :(
I haven't been able to finish a cartoon since summer, so I figured I'd just submit it now before I lost interest again. But it's doing quite well, so I'm still happy.
Very refined style.
Your work reminds me of Kol here on the portal, and also of another flash piece I saw that was done in the style of a traditional artist that I've since forgotten both the name and location of.
Very clean and stylized. Your creatures have managed to be simultaneously unique, disturbing, and visually unified in origin and purpose. Excellent flash.
Nice mixing.
I've tried this myself, and let me tell you, it's a fucking bitch to mix shit in sound recorder. It's got no way to set the tempo or any of that other crap. It must have taken a lot of time inserting sounds at the ends of other clips and recording over and over and over to get this to sound right. You get my respect for pulling this off.
